Family Therapy

Family therapy can help improve your relationships with your children, partner, and/or other family members. It can be used to address specific issues, such as the conflict between parents and children, marital problems, financial issues, separation and divorce, grief, or the impact of mental illness on the whole family.

Specific treatment plans depend on each family’s situation.

Play Therapy

Although it is sometimes used with adults, play therapy is primarily used to help children between the ages of 3 – 12 to explore and freely express their thoughts and emotions through play. It occurs in a safe, comfortable playroom where very few limits are placed on the child, encouraging free expression. This allows our therapists to observe each child’s decisions, choices, and play style.

Ultimately, the goal is to help children learn to express themselves in healthier ways, to develop problem-solving skills, to improve communication, and to help them discover new positive ways to solve problems.

Therapeutic play is often used for children witnessing or undergoing stressful events in their lives, such as a family crisis, a hospitalization, trauma, domestic violence, or any other upsetting events in their environment.
