Managing the Angry Child

This workshop will provide information regarding the dynamics of anger and rage, and help parents determine what the needs of the child are and how to meet them. Becky Lebow, Elementary Guidance Counselor, will offer practical strategies to help problem solve rather than use of punishment.

Social Skills For Children With ADHD

ADHD in children can range from mild to complex. Children with ADHD who have behavioral and social skills deficits suffer due to lack of friends. This workshop will provide practical information to help parents coach their children as well as provide social skills resources in the community.

Social Skills For Children With Asperger's

This workshop will provide basic information regarding Asperger's Syndrome and describe practical interventions to help your child improve social skills, make better contact with others and be more aware of surroundings.

Individual Therapy

We offer individual therapy to children, adolescents and adults for issues including but not limited to:

• Depression
• Anger
• Separation and Divorce
• Grief and Loss
• Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder/ADD
• Anxiety Disorder
• Bipolar Disorder
• Behavior Problems

Cost: For therapy, we accept most behavioral health insurance and out-of-pocket fees. We offer a sliding scale for those in need. Credit card payments accepted.

Group Therapy / Therapeutic Groups

Social Skills/Anger Management
Eight (8) weeks for one-hour for children in need of pro-social skills and concrete ways to manage anger. For social skills, children will learn how to get along with peers, make and keep friends, read social cues, cope with stress, and handle bullies. For anger management, children will learn to express anger appropriately in order to avoid rage; stop negative self-talk; follow directions without arguing and obey adults. Alert Program, Anger Management Curriculum and Social Skills Curriculum will be used in addition to Brain Gym, yoga, art therapy and therapeutic scrap booking. Appropriate for children with ADHD, excessive anger, depression and poor self-control. Insurance accepted. Otherwise $20.00 per session.


Art Therapy
Group or individual sessions for those who wish to use this modality to express inner feelings. Create projects or just express yourself through various mediums. Art mediums such as paint, charcoal, clay, collage and other mediums. No art talent is needed. Out of pocket payments only.

Parent Institute

Created to conduct training and information to parents who are struggling with challenging behaviors of their children.

How to Discipline without Screaming and Scolding- Sonia Hinds, RN, MSN, CS-P
Learn strategies for improving your relationship with your children. Deal with challenging behaviors of your children without loosing your mind and patience. Avoid raising your voice, name calling and saying things that you later regret. This workshop will teach discipline and ways to nurture and encourage your child. Cost: $35.00 per person

Why is my Child so Angry? – Sonia Hinds
Anger is a healthy emotion. However, it is one of the most misunderstood and difficult to control. Learn the ABC’s of anger and how to help your child express angry feelings in healthy ways.
Cost: $35.00 per person

Help! My Child Has ADHD (Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder) – Sonia Hinds
The number of children with this disorder is skyrocketing! Many parents are at their wits-end and do not know what to do. Become equipped with knowledge in order to help your child. Learn strategies to deal with homework refusal, disorganization, misbehavior and other problems common to children with this disorder. Cost: $35.00 per person

Brain Gym®, Rap and Classical Music – Marian Briscuso, MA
This is a series of simple and enjoyable movements for use with children to enhance their experience of whole brain learning. These activities make all types of learning easier and are especially effective with academic skills. Students will learn skills that can enhance listening, reading and math skills. The instructor will use classical and rap music in conducting the interventions. For children and parents to attend together. Cost: $35.00 per person

Resolving Family Conflicts – Danette Ross, Trainer, Consultant
Resolving conflict is an everyday occurrence. How we listen to others, communicate verbally or with body language determine the outcome. Attend this session and learn how to approach conflicts in a proactive manner, practice effective listening, communicate needs in calm, assertive manner and learn negotiation and mediation skills.
Cost: $35.00 per person

Positive Communication Skills - Sonia Hinds
This training will teach the difference between aggressive, passive and assertive communication. Learn how to get your needs met by being respectful and without interfering with the needs of others. Cost: $35.00 per person

Jump Start Your Relationship/Marriage – Andrea Hughes, LPC
Divorce and separation used to be the old alternatives to a distressed marriage. Don’t become another statistic. Take action now! Jump-start your worn out relationship by attending this training to learn how to communicate and relate to each other with harmony and love. Learn how to nurture your relationship and get back to the days when you were romantically drawn to each other. Cost: $75.00 per couple.

Therapeutic After School Program

A safe place for children with a therapeutic component for those in need of anger management, social skills, self-esteem-building, mentoring, homework assistance and therapeutic activities such as art, yoga, and sports activities will be included. Individual therapy will be conducted for those in need. Behavioral health insurance will be used for group and individual sessions. Field trips and all-day activities provided during off school days. Cost: $85.00 per week. Additional cost special programs. Space is limited; register early!

Therapeutic Summer Camp

Four (4) weeks Summer Camp with a therapeutic component for children in need of anger management, pro-social skills and behavior management. Includes:

• Goal setting – children will set goals that are outcome driven to improve behavior
• Anger management/social skills
• Art Therapy
• Sandplay and play therapy
• Field trips to various sites in the county
• Swimming
• Pet Therapy
• Storytelling
• Therapeutic scrap booking
• Health and Fitness/Nutrition to include sports
• Brain Gym ®
• Therapeutic Yoga
• Therapeutic Games
• Family Fun Day on last day of camp

Licensed psychotherapists, art therapist, college interns and counselors will conduct camp.

Cost: $200.00 per week + $25.00 registration fee, which is non-refundable.

Dates: June 23-27 June 30-July 3 July 7-11 July 14-18
Registration ends May 28th.

In addition to the weekly fee, behavioral health insurance will be billed for mental health services such as group and individual therapy provided at camp.
